Jr. Federal Financial Business Transformation Consultant

Location: Springfield VA 22150 (Hybrid – 3 days a week on site)
Clearance: Must be a US citizen and clearable

Job Summary

A Junior Business Transformation Consultant will work within our team to provide support on business transformation services for the Headquarters of a large federal agency. This role will focus on assisting senior consultants in addressing a range of federal financial business challenges within the context of statutory, legislative, and Agency-level requirements. The Junior Consultant will collaborate with team members and business partners to support efforts aimed at improving efficiencies and assisting the customer with the execution of process and system modernizations, and various large-scale compliance initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to learn and contribute to impactful projects within the federal sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis of compliance requirements within legislation, guidance, or policy to help determine impacts and contribute to the development of compliance strategies and action plans.
  • Assist in the analysis of current state processes, requirements, and system functionality to identify capability gaps and support the design of effective solutions for an improved “to-be” state.
  • Develop an understanding of federal business processes and internal controls to contribute to recommendations for improvements through process changes or automations.
  • Assist in the development of user-friendly process documentation and analysis, such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, desk guides, and quick reference guides, ensuring consideration of internal controls requirements.
  • Support the design and facilitation of briefings and status meetings with client leadership and internal project teams.
  • Operate within established quality control standards for work products and deliverables.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in Accounting Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Management/Business Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

  • 0-3 years of experience in consulting or a related field, with an interest in federal business and/or digital transformation.
  • Basic understanding of federal business processes, internal controls, and transaction management is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply project planning and management concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
